Kickass, the doorstop dog, reports that as the keeper promotes the verity that humans are as much a part of the natural world as the birds and the bees, he points to the many natural parallels to the interrupted community feeding at the Correspondents dinner last night.
When seen as a “natural” occurrence—think of a gathering of migrating snow geese or caribou, and add to these images the slinking nature of a predator slipping along the edges of the unwary feeders, and you have the correspondents’ dinner of 2026 with the innocents all dressed up in tuxedos and gowns.
Add billionaire vulture species mixed in with the innocent feeding principles and the focus sharpens up like one of Phyllis’s prize-winning photos.
And then, sticking with the bird parallels here, there are the Correspondent dinner guests’ imminent murmuration’s whereby they will subsequently fly altogether in erratic formations until they disappear down into a swamp.
By the dictates of nature, with everything being cyclic, there will be another Correspondents’ dinner and the keeper and Phyllis plan to skip viewing it on TV and instead watch an old nature show—maybe one about species extinction.
