Geoffrey Carter

Geoff Carter has previously published a number of short stories. Thicker Than Water is his second novel. He holds a PhD in English and has also taught at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. 

Geoff still lives in Milwaukee. He is married to an extraordinary woman  and is the proud father of a remarkable daughter. In his spare time, he enjoys fine wine, sailing, playing jazz, fly-fishing, organic gardening, and reading.

Bill Stokes

Bill Stokes, who lives in Mazomanie,  retired as a columnist/feature writer for The Chicago Tribune after a 35 year career with four newspapers, including the Wisconsin State Journal, Milwaukee Journal and Stevens Point Daily Journal.  He has authored a half dozen other books, some of them compilations of his popular columns and stories. Margaret’s War is his first novel

Mark Mamerow works as a computer systems analyst at a large corporation.  He reads, writes, and bikes from his home in Southeast Wisconsin.



Ann Dallman

Ann has lifelong roots in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. Her first Middle Grade novel, Cady and the Bear Necklace, was published by Henschel HAUS Books of Milwaukee. A graduate of UW-Madison (Journalism Education), she earned an MA in Secondary Education/Reading from Viterbo University. She started out as a newspaper reporter/photographer and returned to journalism after retiring from teaching. She loves delving into “the story behind the story” whether it be of persons, places or things. She continues to freelance for several publications while writing about 13-year-old Cady, and the challenges she faces while solving mysteries.” 



Dr. Neal Wiseman

Dr. Neal Wiseman holds degrees in Psychology from Northeastern University and from Rutgers-The State University. He has also studied at the Institute for Living/Learning in New York and at the Boston Gestalt Institute in Cambridge, MA. Neal`s 35 year career as a psychologist includes service as a School Psychologist, a Clinical Psychologist, and a Director of Psychology at a private psychiatric facility in New Hampshire.

In addition to his interest in dreamology and in Gestalt Therapy, Neal is an award- winning photographer and student of art and music. He has authored two books both of which explore the bases of relationships and the coupling process. He currently offers workshops and courses on the creation of “We-ness”. He is the proud father of two adult children; he and Marcy, his wife of 20 years, reside in Florida.


Mark Orlowski

Mark Orlowski has degrees from the UW-Madison and UM-Minneapolis and is retired as an engineer in various manufacturing and system integration roles. He splits time between homes in Minnesota and Colorado. He’s very proud of his wife Lynn and two sons who live in the Twin Cities. He loves and enjoys gardening, downriver paddling, cross-country skiing, biking, hiking, paddleball and skating. Also enjoys film and reading. Also an insufferably resilient leftist.

Carmela Cattuti started her writing career as a writer for the Somerville News in Boston, MA. She is a writer, painter, and yoga instructor in Boston. After she finished her graduate work in English Literature at Boston College, she began to write creatively and taught a journal writing class at the Cambridge Center for Adult Education. As fate would have it, she felt compelled to write her great-aunt’s story. Between the Cracks and The Ascent have gone through many incarnations and will become a trilogy. The Ascent is the second in the series. The third novel, The Benevolence of New Ideas, will be published October, 2021.
