Kickass, the doorstop dog, agrees with the keeper and Phyllis that diversion in these absurd Wizard-of-Odd days is essential, and the discovery of the dead 20-foot Burmese Phython in an Iowa County ditch near the rural Hillside School fills the bill nicely.
Community attention immediately and almost totally transferred from the White House gang-that-couldn’t-think-straight to that huge dead snake, with multiple questions about where it came from, had it been on the way to Hillside School to pick up lunch, and what or who might already be in the python’s stomach?
Obviously Iowa County sheriff Michael Peterson and his deputies will be occupied with hundreds of big-snake questions until the answers emerge, after which Iowa County residents can switch from wondering about the origin of the big snake in the ditch back to asking how the hell that big orange Wizard of Odd got back in the White House.
Diversion, even if it is temporary, is good!
