Kickass, the doorstop dog, will be assuming commentary duty from the keeper and Phyllis this rainy morning and pronouncing judgement on yesterday’s “No Kings” activity from the dogs’ point of view.

“Well, that was fun!

“Like a joyous romp at a crowded dog park. I saw old friends from previous chases and hunts and we barked at each other as a constant stream of honking cars passed by tempting us to chase them.

“Not being sophisticated about ‘signing’, the demonstrating humans did not ‘leave’ their signs but rather carried them on sticks, most of them with messages objecting to a discipline regimen being introduced back at the kennel by the new billionaire owners. Their intent is to build business with for-profit research labs and foreign countries where dog meat is still on backroom menus.

“The new kennel owners—sometimes referred to as ‘The pack of yahoos,’ have instituted shorter leashes, the use of shock collars and severely cramped cages with multiple locks.

“While Kickass feels good about having had a brief dog-park ‘No Kings’ fling, he does not plan to stop there.  Once back in the miserable confines of the made over kennel he will be looking for ways to once again become a ‘stray dog’ with all the democratic freedom and fun that historically comes with that.

“Kickass invites all other dogs and even the cats to join him!”
