Kickass Pays His Taxes

Kickass, the doorstop dog, naps as the keeper consults with his tax advisor, otherwise known as Phyllis, as to the status of his estimated tax account.

If there was ever a time for a tax revolt it is now with 750,000 homeless people sleeping in US streets, hungry school children, tax-free billionaires profiting from manufacturing the ammunition to kill thousands in countless global wars, including the homegrown one in Iran costing the US billions.

In the great taxing scheme of things, the keeper’s piddling little account hardly seems worth the focused attention it seems to generate annually with the IRS. In response, the keeper acts like an intimidated sparrow and pays up under the implied threat of federal prison.

With the current tax structure transcending an absurd tragedy, a survival technique might be to view it as comedy which would call for laughing at misery, cruelty and worse, reactions now being promoted in POTUS led campaign ads.

After very briefly considering the Federal prison option, the keeper took Phyllis’s advice and wrote a check to the IRS, specifying in the endorsement space that the check-casher’s responsibility was to see that the proceeds went to buy beer for service people on weekend passes.

The keeper plans to find and join some of them. Phyllis, though she is not a big beer fan, will likely accompany him.
