Kickass and the Family at the River

Kickass, the doorstop dog, stayed on door duty as the keeper and Phyllis joined some of the keeper’s crew to send Rick and Becky from their riverside summer digs back to Colorado and their prairie dog battle.

An afternoon rain shower briefly threatened to join the festivities but retreated after one booming lightning strike that chased kids out of the low-running river and did a split-second interruption of the campfire chatter.

Highlight of the day for the keeper was an opportunity for an in-depth conversation with granddaughter Sunny and great-granddaughter Blaize who, at four years old, carries on the family tradition of preferring talking to listening.

It was all the greatest and the keeper can now tell you more than you probably need to know about Blaize’s school days.

Contacts with great grandchildren is to often impeded by necessary circumstances and there needs to be a law……..
