Kickass, the doorstop dog, reports that as he tunes in to the information that everyone except for a handful of white, Christian, racist billionaires is destined for deportation to the countries of their family’s origin, the keeper recognizes the virtue of brushing up on his Norwegian vocabulary as it was passed on to him by his dear old Norwegian mother.
The keeper remembers the childhood breakfast-table language lesson as being a common Norwegian greeting and response that sounded like: “Has en gorta?” followed by “Vel be coming!”
That is obviously not an accurate translation but it might be enough for the keeper to get things started back in Norway. Certainly, however, he should also know how to ask for the location of the nearest restroom and a restaurant serving meatballs with the lutefisk special.
Phyllis, on the other hand will be deported back to Canada and will need to brush up on some Canadian pronunciations and spellings and use the word “eh?’ of her ancestors, which sounds easier than trying to find a meatball restaurant in Norway.
Once the deportations are complete there will remain in the US only the cluster of narcissistic white billionaires and the Native Americans who, at this very minute, are rumored to be assembling at Montana’s Little Big Horn!
