Kickass and the Haircut

Kickass, the doorstop dog, reports that the keeper is under the questionable impression that as long as he has some connection with a “school” he must be learning something, hence his trek across the parking lot to the “Aveda” beauty “school” for a haircut.

The school is an interesting place, alive with young people, mostly female with business-like demeanor moving about among the rows of chairs.

Once the keeper is seated in one of those chairs there is a haircut conference with a student, an instructor and the keeper, with the keeper in a minor role as he simply wants a haircut that he can describe only in very general terms, like “off his ears” and “combed back.”

As to learning something from his “barber school” connection, the keeper learned that “Trinity,” the Lake Mills student of the day snipping away at him with comb and scissors was heading for Florida as soon as she wraps up her year of training which will not be until after her sister’s wedding next summer.

While it may be a stretch to identify that bit of information as “learning,” the keeper tried as much later when he told Phyllis about his barber school haircutter planning to go to Florida after her sister’s wedding.  Phyllis seemed unimpressed even as the keeper had provided her with information she had not previously known, which, to him, qualifies as school-related “learning!”
