Kickass and The Correspondents Dinner

Kickass, the doorstop dog, wonders at the keeper’s insistence that if he had been at the recent Correspondent’s Dinner, he would have led a mid-speech walkout that would have left the orange POTUS spouting his garbage to an empty house.

There is something of a history to the keeper’s claim. It was at Fort McCoy in 1976 you should as the mob of Cuban refugees from Castro’s prisons and instructions was being processed into Fort McCoy. At a press conference, the keeper’s front row chair was suddenly isolated by aggressive TV crews to the point that he became angry and banged his chair up in front of the TV cameras with a choice and interfering view of the press conference generals. A reporter for a local newspaper followed the keeper’s example and later wrote about the incident in his local column, lauding it as a gesture of necessity in the face of TV lording it over the print media.

The comparison of the Fort McCoy incident with the correspondent’s dinner is obviously remote, but something should have been done to save the entire big league press corps members from sitting like dolts for an hour while the demented Orange POTUS ridiculed and insulted them. A mid-speech walk-out would have earned the correspondents new respect with an ever-questioning citizenry and made the point with the POTUS that his line of cruel bullshit is not acceptable.

As he explained his press corps thinking to Phyllis she walked out of the room!!!! She was back almost immediately having located her glasses, and she endorsed the keeper’s walkout sentiments.

But for just a moment there……..
