Kickass and the Honeymoon Trees

Kickass, the doorstop dog, accepts the following from the keeper and Phyllis:

It is the honeymoon of the trees–these torrid days of early summer.

Lush in their new green-leaf finery, the trees sway against each other in a biological passion that dominates all other such seasonal dictates.

As a hot sun orchestrates the program, the wooded hills become great, day-long displays of exchanging new leaf intimacy with intimidating grace and style.

In a day of their early summer dancing, the trees say, “It is us first, but then we will prepare things for others, the birds and all the critters to join us in conducting their own hot-wind honeymoons.”
