Kickass and Home on the Range

Kickass, the doorstop dog, has occasionally been moved to howling in accompaniment to the keeper’s singing, and recently they have collaborated on “Home, Home on the Range,” with Phyllis joining in with aggressive harmony.

The lyrics-“Oh give me a home where the buffalo roam and the deer and the antelope play, …….” have taken on new significance as the outlaw Trump gang aims to remove the wild buffalo from their public range, apparently using the same reasoning that will remove the public from the Boundary Waters, voters from the polls and foreign born from the entire country.

As this outrage continues and becomes more extreme on a daily basis it makes a mockery of the old song’s lyrics-“Where seldom is heard a discouraging word and the skies are not cloudy all day.”

Phyllis, through her efforts with the Silver Badgers protestors, helps take the “discouraging word” to new heights and the keeper laces it up with the most colorful profanity he can come up with, and does a solo number of Roger Miller’s “Oh Lord but it’s hard to be humble…..”

It would be interesting if the oafish Stephen Miller in the White House would sing along with him but that does not seem likely.

“……..and the skies are not cloudy all day!”
