Kickass, the doorstop dog, reports that in his tireless search for meaningful parallels in life, the keeper is convinced he has found one in the memory of “Snowball,” the useless Billie goat of his farm- boy childhood and the current occupant of the White House.
Snowball, a hornless, neutered goat, was a pet for the keeper and his brother and sister and had no function except to hang around and climb up on top of the machine shed to look down on the rest of world. It was an obvious life of ease and mischief.
Then the keeper’s father discovered that Snowball was following the cows out into the pasture and suckling milk out of their udders, apparently to the point of full-Billie goat-belly and empty-cow- udders.
A cattle dealer was called, with Dad’s hard message softened by telling the keeper and his siblings they could divide whatever the dealer paid for Snowball. The final Snowball question then became how to make a fair three-way split of seventy-five cents?
Parallels! Parallels! Parallels!
An obvious Snowball is in the White House suckling the cows dry and the cattle dealer is on the way.
