Kickass, the doorstop dog, joins the keeper in noting that for the past six afternoons Phyllis has joined fellow Silver Badgers at the intersection of Gammon Rd and Tree Lane in a sign-carrying protest against the cruel stupidity and murdering being foisted on the world by the narcissistic oaf who bought his way into the White House with tainted billionaire money.
The weather records will show that those six days were some of the coldest in years, and to stand out in them meant you were either daft or had a damn good reason to be there.
Put Phyllis and the mostly-very-senior Silver Badgers down in the “damn good reason” category as they wave their protest signs at the passing traffic, stomp their cold feet to generate circulation and feel validated that the damn-good-reason they are out there is simply to promote basic human decency.
There is something very gratifying and moving about the Silver Badgers and millions of others across the country standing out in the cold to make the point that they will not be led over the cliff of ignorance and cruelty like so many suicidal lemmings.
Go Phyllis and “Silver Badgers” everywhere! You and decency will prevail!
