Kickass, the doorstop dog, shares a quandary with the keeper and Phyllis and everyone else–trapped in a burning theatre of the absurd with only doubtful response to their shouts of “FIRE!”
As flames eat through the roof and a madman stars in an over-the-top tragicomedy, it seems appropriate to simply order more popcorn and wait for the inevitable climatic ending when the burning roof falls in and crushes the villainous actor and his mob cast like so many scurrying cockroaches.
There is no guarantee, however. Best to move down to the front row seats and demand a showstopper ending that you and your kids can live with. Bring a bucket of rotten apples as treats in case the ICE ushers show up.
(The keeper notes this allegory excess is brought to you by the Silver Badgers, a Vista West centered group of experienced Democracy Demonstrators who have plans for “GOOD” Day Tuesday at 2 pm out on Gammon Road. They welcome your warmly dressed participation.)
