Kickass, the doorstop dog, reports the keeper is ever anxious to follow the dictates of nature through the aging process—if running poses a balance issue, don’t run; when your vision fades, get glasses; when your waistline expands buy bigger pants, etc..
So, what to do with the natural signal that every day it becomes more difficult to reach your feet to put on shoes and socks? The natural response would be to go barefoot, but after a brief discussion with Phyllis the keeper decided not to go that route, winters in Wisconsin being what they are.
Instead, he will give the morning struggle more respect and when it is finally completed and he is mildly exhausted he will announce to Phyllis, “Honey, I got my shoes and socks on!”
It’s life in the fast lane and she loves it!
