Kickass and Demonstration for Hope

Kickass, the doorstop dog, joins the keeper and Phyllis in wondering if there are parallels in NATURE to the current trend of humans gathering to hold signs along the streets in an expression of opposition to a vicious predator perched on the mountain top while devouring beloved Alpha females?

How about a murder of irate crows cawing at a slinking coyote devouring fresh roadkill down below their tree?

Or maybe a poached elephant carcass out on the savannah with the hyenas waiting to see if the lions leave any scraps for them?

In its seeming futility, the roadside sign-carriers join the crows and the hyenas in doing what they can to survive on the bones they know will eventually be available to them.

It was that way Saturday when several hundred roadside sign carriers, sponsored by the “Silver Badgers” gathered at Gammon Road and Tree Lane to celebrate the innate knowledge that their day will come: It is written in NATURE: “Hope is Alive!”
