Kickass, the doorstop dog, reminds the keeper and Phyllis that the most important thing to remember about throwing a sandwich is to throw it in the direction of the dog.
Throwing a sandwich at an ICE agent is fraught with peril as the ICERS wear bulletproof vests which repel sandwiches and then provide material for unfounded claims of damage. In the sandwich throwing case of record, the targeted ICE agent claimed that he could smell mustard and onions as the sandwich “exploded” all over his chest. Actual court video shows that the sandwich was still tightly enclosed in its wrapper when it fell to the ground at the ICER’s feet.
That the sandwich thrower was freed by the court is the most encouraging thing to come out of the justice system lately. It is hoped the Supreme Court will see fit to let the decision stand but anything is possible with big eaters like Justices Thomas and Roberts on the court.
(Remember: Throw all sandwiches in the direction of the dog!)
