Kickass, the doorstop dog, sympathizes with the keeper in his tech inadequacies from which Phylis is constantly rescuing him.
If the keeper were prone to it he would be in a constant state of embarrassment. But then he considers what a long trip it has been for him to keep pace with just the tech within his profession, namely the reporter’s camera, and he tells Phyllis to be patient and show him yet once again how to answer his phone messages.
When you start with a 4 by 5 Speed Graphic as big and unwieldly as a wheelbarrow, as the keeper is shown doing in the accompanying photo, it is a long and daunting trip to the very latest in photo tech where everyone is a telephone press photographer.
If it is a problem for the keeper to talk on his “smart” phone—and it is, how can he be expected to take profession photos on the damn thing!
Next the phone will be arguing with him about the best route to drive downtown, with Phyllis tending to side with the phone’s navigator; as the talking, self-driving car commands the keeper to keep his hands on the steering wheel, and obviously, to shut up and do what the tech world tells him to do, as graciously filtered by Phyllis, of course.
