Kickass, the doorstop dog, reports that as the admirals and generals gather today in the big crap game the keeper notes that he has always been seriously intimidated by ranks and titles to the point that he cowers before the assumed disapproval of an approaching “waiter,” even more so before a “waitress.” And just a glimpse of a police “officer” can send him under the porch for hours.
The genesis of this crippling condition may lie with the keeper being told at a very young age that his younger sister was the boss by dint of her having the title of “sister.”
This over reaction to all forms of titled authority served the keeper well during his military, college and journalism days with “officers, professors and editors” considered titled gods.
And of course, the keeper’s title intimidation was an essential ingredient when the title of “wife” was part of his life, as now when Phyllis assumes the awesome and thankless role of his care and feeding.
He will go with “Queen” as an appropriate Phyllis title and recommends its application to all others, especially the assembling admirals and generals who need to listen to their wives and mothers instead of a lineup of titled narcissistic oafs.
