Kickass, the doorstop dog, is unable to give the keeper and Phyllis any meaningful assistance with keeping their great grandchildren in an orderly file in their obviously overloaded mental storage systems.

One of the differences between grandchildren and great grandchildren is often proximity. Plain old grandchildren tend to arrive as part of a family parade and then remain virtually underfoot during a long period of shared time with grandma and grandpa’s house being a special place.

Great grandchildren, on the other hand are often birthed in a distant location with routine announcement and a photo of a little bundled up stranger, and they then lead most of their early existence in that faraway place.

All of this is by way of explaining how, during this greatgrandchildren weekend for both the keeper and Phyllis, names may be confused and identities denied due to incredible growth and development.
