Kickass, the doorstop dog, is the first to remind the keeper that there is a lot of sheer luck involved in his being around for his 94th birthday as the most tragic day in US history is noted.
On this day in 2001, the keeper was lamenting that his 70th birthday meant he was getting old, and then his daughter Pat told him to turn on the TV.
A new perspective emerged and has prevailed ever since: getting to be 70 years old was damn good and involved a lot of luck, getting to be 94 is even better and involves much more luck, all of it good!
Thanks to Phyllis, the family and lots of friends for noting that the keeper is still riding one helluva lucky streak!
