Kickass, the doorstop dog, passes along the keeper’s proud announcement that granddaughter Sarah participated in the Sauk-Prairie cow chip throwing weekend, running a marathon and throwing a chip a respectable distance.
The keeper is not on Sarah’s coaching staff which is headed by Sarah’s father Mike who has vast experience and skill in flinging symbolic cow—mostly bull chips, as the talent was inherited from the keeper.
Making the point that a competitive sport can be made out of anything, the keeper is curious about what may eventually evolve from the millions who currently follow a leashed dog with a plastic bag in hand? A dog-bag throw seems possible as masked ICE agents pop out of the shrubbery as targets.
The recent history of the ICE-targeting sandwich thrower being laughed out of court would seem to encourage a sport along those lines. Perhaps it could become known as “The doggie-do dodge,” with prizes awarded to ICE agents who slink back into the hedges to avoid bags of flying dog poop!
Happy Labor Day from the keeper and Phyllis!
