Kickass, the doorstop dog, reports that the keeper and Phyllis offer the following sample letter for sending to legislators from those who are upset at learning that Wisconsin is the ONLY state allowing the outrageous “sport” of summer bear hound training.

“Dear State senator/representative:

“I will no longer support you and will generate opposition to you unless I hear that you are actively engaged in abolishing the Wisconsin laws permitting summer bear hound training in Wisconsin’s north woods.

“These unconscionable laws were foisted on the State many years ago by bear hound owners, many from out of state, and have meant that for two months every summer hounders from all over the country gang into Wisconsin with packs of hounds to torment all wild creatures at the height of their family raising stresses.

“As a responsible Wisconsin legislature in a state that prides itself in living harmoniously and humanely with all creatures, I am sure you will obviously want to correct this moral outrage and I thank you in advance for doing so.
