Kickass, the doorstop dog, reports that the keeper feels a responsibility to remind Wisconsin residents that in addition to starving children, bombed hospitals and demented shooters their list of concerns should include the fact that now in the top of the summer the Wisconsin north woods is under siege by bear hounds and their owners who gang into Wisconsin from all over the country for “summer hound training.”
NO OTHER state permits such an unconscionable activity that has packs of hounds rampaging through the magnificent northern forests just as ALL the creatures are at the height of their family raising. This travesty was put in place years ago by bear hound interests, many from out of state, and goes on outrageously, with additional provisions making it illegal to even photograph the hounders or hounds from public property.
That Wisconsin residents continue to tolerate this utterly cruel nonsense to accommodate warped ideas of “sport” is reason for badgers to hang their heads in shame. The keeper and Phyllis are hanging theirs.
