Kickass, the doorstop dog, joins the keeper and Phyllis and friends Hester, Larry and Michael in a lunch visit with across-the-street neighbor “The Lussier Community Education Center” and came away well fed and greatly impressed with the broad scope of meaningful services the center’s staff and dedicated volunteers provide on a daily basis.
From a “food action plan” that uses donated items to feed hundreds to giving a young violinist a needed practice space to open gyms and socializing and education spaces for various age groups and setting up the polls on election days, the Lussier Center is an incredible facility. A brief tour of the sprawling entity by director Arturo and his explanation of what goes on within it every day left the keeper’s lunch group awed and reminded that there are many good, caring, generous people in the world and some of them are neighbors over across from where Tree Lane meets Gammon.
