Kickass, the doorstop dog, reports the keeper unhappy that he is not up in northern Wisconsin riding around the north woods in a Model T Ford with Phyllis’s son Kevin and his wife Colleen at the annual week-long “Doughty” summer Model T tour originated many years ago by Colleen’s family and faithfully carried on to this day by Colleen’s father Brendan and others.
With his affection for the Model T and history with it–as a boy he cranked on one all one winter and it never did start–the keeper rides along in fantasy with the convoy of those wonderful old machines as Kevin and Colleen and their families cruise the magnificent north woods in the classiest car ever made.
The keeper still hears the stubborn buzzing of those four wooden Model T coils as he cranked the winter away in a fog of boyhood delusion.
Good luck Kevin, Colleen and all the “Doughty T tourers”.
