Kickass, the doorstop dog, reports the keeper spending much of the first day of summer in awe of the trees as they did a hot-wind dance that was an awesome display of grace, beauty and boundless natural energy.
Like great celebrating mothers in new green dresses, the trees swayed in unchoreographed abandon, turning the wooded hills into the ultimate dance venue and giving millions of new leaves their summer assignments–“Hang on! There is much more to come before your colorful finale.”
The keeper could not stop staring out at the swaying summer tree dance over on a nearby hill, prompting Phyllis to ask at one point if he was okay?
He asked her in turn if she would join him in going out to dance with the wind and the trees. She seemed receptive to the idea.
(The keeper authored a book several years ago— “TREESON: An APOLOGIA To Trees” that is available on Amazon or from him at billstokes31@gmail.com.)
