Kickass, the doorstop dog, reports on some of the keeper’s gang “gathering at the river” on yet another attempt at standardizing clan memories while soaking up warm sunshine and listening to the birds.
It is, of course, common that when families get together for “remembering” excesses, there are differences from one person to the next as to just how certain things are recalled.
At the end of such sessions individual memories have not been appreciably altered but there is a heightened sense that some family members are inclined to exaggerate while others practice downright denial.
None of these varied reactions detracts in the slightest from the value of family memory sessions, and the keeper and Phyllis hope to be involved in many more of them, always as the final authorities in matters of memory accuracy when next we gather at the river.
