Kickass and Fire Department Winter

Kickass, the doorstop dog, joins the keeper and Phyllis in doing everything possible to get rid of the ornery 2023-24 winter, and when it had finally retreated to a single filthy snowbank in a corner of the parking lot, someone obviously notified the fire department with a request to “Please do something about this!”

The Madison Fire Department showed up at Vista West with a big fancy truck and EMTs jumped off to go inside to render aid to one of the residents, while totally ignoring the obscene remnant of winter which was well within range of their hoses and axes.

The keeper would lodge a complaint, but next time the MFD shows up at Vista West it might be on his behalf, and if there is very little to be done about the 2023-24 winter there is less opportunity to subtract years from his aging entity.

Kickass might suggest a canine approach for the keeper and urge him to “mark territory” on the dirty snowbank since the fire fighters are ignoring it.
