Kickass, the doorstop dog, joined the keeper in watching the sunrise this morning, as his angle of view put some of the first brilliant rays in close proximity to the State Capitol, an obvious omen of a coming day of wholesale enlightenment on behalf of a grateful citizenry.
Unfortunately for that citizenry the gerrymandered minority-representative legislature is not in session and the opportunity for it to be literally enlightened was lost, as it has been on a daily basis—clouds or sunshine since the voter maps were drawn 10 years ago by narcissistic Republican cartoonist’s.
The sunrise view never fails to show the clouds of hot air billowing up from the downtown power plant and wafting over in the direction of the Capitol.
As the keeper watched, the bright rays of sunshine dissipated but the clouds of hot air persevered, and for the keeper and Phyllis the day of April 5, 2024 was off and running in Wisconsin’s Capitol City.Â
