Kickass, the doorstop dog, agrees with the keeper that there are days when the contrary Wisconsin weather crosses the line and the only thing to do is to stay in bed.
Today is one of those days.
But the keeper has a dental appointment 20 miles away about the time the rain-changing-to-snow is predicted to be heaviest and “accumulating.”
This sets up the choice: stay in bed or go out in the spring slop and drive to the dentist’s office?
If it were not for the need to address a broken tooth issue, it would be no contest and the keeper would pull the covers up over his head and settle in for the day.
In her usual accommodating style, Phyllis says the decision is totally the keeper’s, and a broken tooth is not a deal breaker, all things considered, which would be something for the keeper to mull over in the darkness under the bed covers.
