Kickass, the doorstop dog, joins the keeper in noting that while writing is mostly a solitary undertaking, the mechanics of getting words out to readers involves many others on both personal and professional levels. Currently for the keeper the capable hands of Phyllis keep him in the game with books and posts to an amazing degree. Without her his written words would be reduced to the level of graffiti.
In the past it has always been a pleasure for the keeper to accept the generous help of family members in his publishing fumbles: his late daughter Pat, granddaughter Sarah, grandson Paul and most recently grandson Tony. Others have provided limitless subject matter through the years starting way back in State Journal days with “Ship the Kids On Ahead” the keeper’s first book which was illustrated by son Larry, 14 years old at the time.
The keeper extends blanket appreciation to Phyllis and Paul for their current efforts to sort through a web of complications to keep the keeper’s publishing nose above the water line.
It is the kind of thing that moves the keeper to ask, what is family for if not to be used, and loved, of course!
