Kickass, the doorstop dog, approves of what might be considered a premature settlement of the keeper’s reincarnation issue since he is not yet in the reassembly process.
But based on Phyllis’s over-the-top reaction to the unexpected visit by Maria and her Cocker Spaniel puppy there is no doubt about what the keeper’s next go-around will be.
It isn’t that the keeper is deprived of Phyllis’s demonstrative affection in his present state, but to be cuddled in her arms and exclaimed over with love words as the puppy was, convinced him beyond a doubt that it is the Cocker Spaniel reincarnation route for him.
No hurry, of course, but there is some comfort for the keeper in knowing that at least that issue is settled.
He does wonder what Phyllis might name him as a Cocker Spaniel puppy. He would hope for something strong like “Midnight” or “King.”
She might, however, recycle something she already uses and simply call him “Honey” or “Sweetheart.”
That would be okay.
