Kickass Goes to the Dentist

Kickass, the doorstop dog, reports on the keeper’s talent for so easily slipping from the sublime to the ridiculous, exemplified today in the wake of Phyllis’s great health report and moving on to the keeper’s trip to the dentist.

There is, on the one hand, heartfelt appreciation for the outpouring of support from friends and family regarding Phyllis’s situation, and on the other hand, there is a grown man anticipating today’s dentist visit with the dominate thought that they are going to hurt him, though he knows better.

Once as a State Journal columnist, the keeper offended the Dane County Dental Association to the point that it demanded an apology, which was written and published as: “I am sorry: it is fun to go to the dentist.”

That seemed to take care of the situation at the time; and will have to do today as the keeper heads for the good people at Family Dentistry out in Black Earth to get a cavity taken care of.

He says he will try to be brave, but makes no promises about keeping things in perspective.
