Kickass, the doorstop dog, reports the keeper reassessing his self-assigned responsibility to make a daily comment on whatever registers on his erratic flight plan, sometimes as a diversion from an impossible truth and other times to call attention to yet another absurdity or maybe Phyllis’s Silver Badgers accomplishments.
Then there is a morning like this one with one man having taken the world into the Pearl Harbor stages of another world war, already reporting multiple children slaughtered and military casualties from multiple countries, including the US, predicted as inevitable.
To be branded the fool as a commentator has never deterred the keeper during his many years of newspaper column writing.
But this morning it is not in him to think about anything but the awful unimaginable truth of the looming world war and how one more time the rich narcissistic old men have arranged for the innocent multitudes to die for their egos and their profits.
Maybe tomorrow Kickass will be able to deal with “the demise of the spare tire” or some such trivia, but not this morning of March 1, 2025.
