Kickass, the stop dog, reports the keeper and Phyllis reviewing their grandchild business with a visit from Bud and his wife Jessica during which Bud’s record birth at 23 ounces was briefly reviewed as was his first two years of life when his parents Pat and Tim dealt with oxygen paraphernalia and critical situations as Bud’s care became a challenge not only for them but for the UW Hospital staff. At one point Bud and his parents were a full front page newspaper feature in which Bud was touted as a “miracle baby” and the story of his unbelievable survival was detailed.
As a grandparents, the keeper and Phyllis consider all of their grandchildren miracle babies, of course, not all of them as documented as Bub.
The much-appreciated visit was timed out because Bud was scheduled to work at his job as a librarian at Lawrence College in Neenah where he and Jessica live.
Who would ever believe that a librarian who once weighed 23 ounces could very capably help with term papers and research?
His grandfather would!
