Kickass and Festivals

Kickass, the doorstop dog, napped as the keeper and Phyllis joined in the summer-long tradition of immigrant descendants gathering to celebrate their ethnicities.  It was the “Festa Italia” at Mckee Farms Park and a great time was had by all thanks in part to the hosting of Gary and Maryann who provided spaghetti-eating accommodations with a view of the Bocci court.

Meanwhile, Irish Fest was going strong on the other side of town as Norwegians, Swedes, Mexicans and other immigrant descendant groups were either planning their own special festival or celebrating its success.

These summer festivals may represent just what it is all about when one ethnicity puts out the word that they are going to have a big party to celebrate their immigrant ancestors and everyone is invited to attend: “Delicious traditional food, beer, music and places to sit and make new friends.”

Thank you Gary and Maryann for including the keeper and Phyllis in serving up the summer soup of ethnic festivities. It was delicious!
