Kickass Goes to Work

Kickass, the doorstop dog, does not think there is any connection between the gratifying court events of May 30 and Phyllis’s decision to move Kickass off the entry shelf where he has been idling for years and stationing him down on the floor where he can assume his rightful doorstop role.

There was no discussion about the move. The keeper returned from an errand to find Kickass down on the floor holding the door open as Phyllis and friend Georgellen held court on a number of critical subjects—quilt making, photography, caption writing and book binding.

Later, as the 34-count court news spread, the keeper thought of asking Phyllis if she had any reassignments in mind for him. He hopes she will allow him to remain “on the shelf” where he has been idling for years while watching way too much TV court proceedings.

It is a new day for Kickass, the keeper and everyone else: Thank you Phyllis and New York jury members.
