Kickass, the doorstop dog, advises the keeper that he has obviously been over exposed by TV to the methodology of the legal profession as terms like “the defense rests” and “objection sustained” are not useful in furtherance of a personal relationship.
It isn’t that Phyllis doesn’t understand the terms—she is as overexposed to TV legal jargon as the keeper is, it is that she seems less inclined to adapt the lawyers’ lingo and has never told the keeper to “clear the court room” or that he is “dismissed until next Tuesday.”
So, despite Shakespeare’s suggestion to “kill all the lawyers,” how about if we just prohibit them from cluttering up the TV channels with endless political absurdity.
The keeper rests his case!
