Kickass, the doorstop dog, is happy to report that the visit of Phyllis’s Canadian sister Joan and husband Bill, was judged by the keeper as a success in that all of the sister’s numerous family members were discussed and defined as were ancestors going back to their migration from Germany where they had been at the invitation of Catherine The Great who had been recruiting skilled workers and farmers.

There is obviously something special between sisters as they exercise their inside knowledge of how a family works and doesn’t work, and all the shades in between.

The keeper was privileged to listen in, and to be thankful that he was not officially in the “Regier” family mix where there are standards he probably could not meet.

It occurred to the keeper, however, that if sisters could somehow be more involved in world affairs, the threat of war would be much less, as witnessed by the fact that the US and Canada are still at peace as Joan and Bill head back to their home in Saskatchewan.

It had been a most pleasant visit.
