Kickass, the doorstop dog, joins the keeper and Phyllis and the rest of the world to pause this day to think about Mom without whom none of us would be here.
Thanks for that, Mom.
And we know that if you were in charge, the world would not be as deranged as it is. There has been a dire need for a “World Mom” since humans came down out of the trees, one who would wield a broom and a mop and a willow switch and demand, without tolerating “backtalk” that everyone pick up their junk, be polite to the neighbors, stop fighting, do their homework and act as if they had a brain!
Every morning when he ties his shoes the keeper thinks of his Mom and thanks her for having taught him how to tie a bow knot. It is a little thing, and one of countless other things Mom taught him, or at least gave it her best “mom” effort.
The keeper and Phyllis talk often of the incredible challenges their respective mothers faced. Either one could have been a World Mom, as could everyone’s mother: “PICK UP YOUR JUNK AND ACT AS IF YOU HAD A BRAIN!”
Happy Mother’s Day!
