Kickass, the doorstop dog, joins the keeper and Phyllis in welcoming Phyllis’s sister Joan and her husband Bill as they visit from their home near Saskatoon, Canada.
In speaking of their border crossing into the US, Joan and Bill said it was necessary to delete from their phones any reference to the current US regime lest it be interpreted as insulting, which of course included previous Kickass messages that might contain such material.
It is Joan and Bill’s assessment that the inane blabbering excesses of the US’s Orange Narcissistic Wingnut have far exceeded neighborly teasing and done irreparable damage to a once mutually rewarding relationship that went far beyond fishing trips and forests and exchange visits with friends and family.
“Our friends asked why in the world we were visiting the US and only understood after we explained our family connections,” Bill said.
A daughter and grandkids in Philadelphia and a sister in Madison is obviously enough motivation for Joan and Bill to risk ICE capture and forced deportation to El Salvador.
Brave people, those Canadians!
But maybe they should build a wall!
