Kickass, the doorstop dog, napped as the keeper and Phyllis joined a community room full of Vista West residents at a “Founders Day” dinner, a very nice white tablecloth, wine and rose affair put on by director Jeanne and her capable staff.
It all required Phyllis to dress fancy and the keeper to don a clean shirt and try to recall what it had been like in the Vista West area four years ago when he and Phyllis encamped up on the 5th floor.
In thinking of himself as a “founder” he seems to remember a Native American village up on Tree Lane and buffalo stampeding down Gammon toward the high school.
In further qualifying for the pioneering “founder” role the keeper will ask Phyllis to teach him how to square dance and will also ask her if it is the red or white wine that goes with crab-stuffed shrimp?
