Kickass, the doorstop dog, reports that in the keeper’s efforts to be as helpful as possible at this time of year, he suggested that a solution to George Hasselberg’s finding salted-peanuts-in-the-shell problem was at Menards where big bags of them are located near the dog food.
A Facebook comment was then made to George by old friend Sara that these Menard peanuts were intended for squirrels and birds, which George agreed was probably the case.
It pains the keeper when his advice is questioned, particularly by old friends, and he went to the labels on his bag of Menards peanuts to read that they are “Heart Smart” and “Eating 1.5 ounces of peanuts a day may reduce the risk of heart disease,” which the keeper has suffered from since a heart attack in 1983.
The keeper is happy to pass this information along to the birds and the squirrels and to George and Sara as he hands his Menards peanut bag over to Phyllis who also has a heart issue.
