Kickass, the doorstop dog, will be sleeping in to avoid being stepped on by the keeper as he–the keeper steps on and off the bathroom scale following cookie day at the weekly Vista West social hour:
“Oh, Christmas cookie we love you so,
“But that you already know.
“So, tell me this, you sugar-soaked flat,
“How many of you in a pound of my fat?
“All frosted and pretty on the platter,
“Just one more, that won’t matter.
“And if that one is pleasing to me
“I’m sure to go for two or three.
“By season’s end I’ll weigh and sigh,
“Just one more cookie before I die.”
“Phyllis would hand that cookie to me
“But she ate it herself it’s plain to see.
“So, Christmas cookie, there is that:
“Togetherness helps with seasonal fat.”
