Kickass, the doorstop dog, sits in along with Phyllis as the keeper has an imaginary meeting with Clint Eastwood regarding Clint’s advice to “Don’t let the old man in!” as a directive in living to an over-ripe old age.
Keeper: “You just made another movie, Clint. Why?”
Clint: “To keep the old man out.”
Keeper: “Would you advise the keeper to keep writing on his magnum opus considering he is as old as you are?”
Clint: “Hell yes. If you don’t occupy your writing chair the old man will.”
Keeper: “What about embarrassing false starts and an old writer’s ego impatience for reader reaction?”
Clint: “Pay it no heed. It is all part of the old man’s move-in game-plan. Slam the door in the old bastard’s face and rewrite on.”
Keeper: “Thank you, Clint. You have made my day.”
