Kickass and Dead Fish Photos

Kickass, the doorstop dog, reports that the keeper is off on a research rampage to determine why it so pleases people—mostly men, to be photographed with a fish, usually a good-sized dead fish and sometimes with a whole string of smaller dead fish?

It is a circumstance prominent in the keeper’s clan as evidenced in many family photo records.

In his pursuit of “why?” the keeper offers the suspicion that it has somehow become genetically crucial for humans—mostly men again, to demonstrate—if only to themselves, that they are smarter than fish and here is the photographic proof of that!

In his research, the keeper asked Phyllis if she had ever been photographed with a dead fish, and her response indicated that perhaps she already felt comfortable with her relationship to fish and did not need photographic documentation thereof.

It is the keeper’s guess that her attitude may extend to most other women.

In the meantime, the keeper offers an apology to fish for his lifetime passion of pursuing them with a flyrod and single-minded determination. He will, of course, continue to preserve the photographic evidence.
