Kickass, the doorstop dog, reports that the keeper has an answer to the question of “What kind of religion do you get if you put a half dozen writers in a converted church and pass around a mic?”
The Black Earth Library set it all up Friday night in a former church now occupied by the Black Earth Historical Society, and the answer to the riddle was obvious: you get “Word worship!” with writers evangelizing to use their words to spread thoughts, ideas, information and truth.
Even as the local writers preached the sanctity of words—theirs especially, there was outside news of further decay in the free flow of information as the media fell deeper and deeper into the garbage pit of billionaire ownership and control.
“First they restrict the free flow of reliable information and the rest is easy!”
If the “Word worshippers” had an official hymn, it might be “Amazing Greed” to help identify the threat to the truth they use their words to convey.
It was a great evening for the keeper and Phyllis in the converted Black Earth church.
