Kickass and the Heatwave

Kickass, the doorstop dog, joins the keeper and Phyllis in preparing for the dangerous heat wave about to descend on the Midwest, their main strategy being the “Stationary Excessive Hydration Exercise Program”—SEHEP,  whereby they occupy recliners in air conditioned quarters while taking in large amounts of liquid which necessitates getting up frequently to go to the bathroom.

They will also be glancing out the window occasionally to note the activity of those who are obligated to be out in the intense heat to do the things that need to be done, and this will lead them to conclude that of all the negatives of being old there is an occasional upside.

It is the same thought pattern that the keeper’s age group applies to winter blizzards, which is something to think about as the heat descends.
