Kickass, the doorstop dog, reports that the keeper and Phyllis were a launch pad for the keeper’s granddaughter Sarah as she returned to her California digs and husband Jessie after a summer’s visit, mostly with her dad Mike on the Wisconsin River at Sauk.
It was wonderful to have Sarah in the vicinity and to renew acquaintance with Boo, the aging family schnauzer who once lived with the keeper and Phyllis and is now a flying companion of Sarah’s—in a special dog bag under the seat on Breeze Airlines.
To watch Sarah deftly maneuver the airport entrance with pieces of very heavy luggage, a backpack, a dog bag and a dog did the keeper proud and assured him anew that the women in his circle are damn competent and if one of them—like Sarah ever chose to run for president she would win.
